Bayles

Another day dawns and we all gather at the feeding trough (breakfast time). Its here we plan our day. Ian is off to play golf. Margaret heads off into Koo wee rup for provisions for tonight.
On her return, we have lunch, then into our car and go to Lang Lang. Margaret has been told there is a very good butcher over there. Made our purchases then set the Navman going to plot our return. All Ok for the first few kilometres. All of a sudden a big mound of dirt appeared in front of us. Navman was prompting us to go straight ahead. There was no way we were going straight ahead. Apparently the road is marked on various maps but doesn’t exist physically. We about turn, Navman recalculates and we get home safely. Through the afternoon Hugh, Ian and Margaret’s son, arrives for the Easter break.
Tonight is a type of reunion for our family. Helen and Frank arrive from Narre Warren and Ian has returned from his golfing exploits. We all had a bit of a chat over a couple of drinks as you do. The call goes out “men to the BBQ” to cook the meat. Elsie and Janette joined us and we all enjoyed a well prepared tea. The girls excelled with the salads and sweets and the meat was just beautiful. Naturally all this good food was washed down with a few good wines.
To cut my story short, the girls wondered off to bed one by one and it was left to the blokes to keep the party going. Ask Frank. I think we called it quits about 2 am. I certainly did. I think there will be a couple of sick and sorry people around here.
