Batemans Bay Day 7

This morning we were up about 8.30 and on the road by 10 am. We have decided to travel to Jervis Bay.

It was quite a nice drive, with light traffic and fine sunny weather. We arrived at the ranger station at Jervis Bay about 12 o clock. We had a NSW park's pass but wasn't recognized here because it was Commonwealth property. We were charged a concessional fee which wasn't too bad.

Booderee National Park was the name of this area. We stopped at the Info. Office and they made various suggestions on what to see and do. We took the Jervis Bay road to Murrays Beach where we did a couple of short walks. We then relocated to Green Patch Beach and found a table and chairs and had lunch. We were surrounded with Currawongs,  a Kookaburra and various other birds. Green Patch Beach is a very well set up camp area and also catters for day trippers like us

Our next stop was the Booderee Botanic Gardens. It covers about 80 hectares in a unique setting of cultivated areas surrounded by natural bushland. There are many walks from cool rainforest to the Koori Gardens or around Lake McKenzie.

Back to the car and head for home. On the way we detoured through the towns of Hyams Beach, Vincentia and Huskisson all have characters of their own. Back to the Princes Highway and back to Batemans Bay arriving back at the van by 5.30.

A coffee happy hour, then tea, a bit of tele then off to bed.
