We were up and on the way to Mathoura, a whole 37km. We arrived about 10.15 am. We set the van up in a nice grassy site in the caravan park then drove to Moama to check out some free camping sites on the Murray River. The 5 mile boat ramp has been changed to Day Use only.
We then travelled back to Moama across the bridge into Victoria and 7km east of Echuca to Christies Beach. A good big area but feel the road is too rough to pull our van across. Back to Echuca , fuelled the car at the Shell service station then it was back to Mathoura.
Into the info centre but nothing new took our fancy. Back past our Caravan Park to look at a free camp area 7km down the road. There were a number of campers here but it just felt a little uncomfortable. We then drove on to the Picnic Point caravan park where there were a large number of casual/permanents there as well as a couple of short stay vans.
We returned to our van where we had a late lunch. We were going to walk one of the trails here but it started raining so we spent the afternoon in the van. Before ee knew it, it was time for tea, telly then bed.
Tomorrow we hope to travel to Rochester.
