Kiama

This morning we departed the caravan park about 9.30 and headed south down the Princes Highway.  Took the turnoff for Gerringong, Gerroa and on down to Shoalhaven Heads.

At Gerroa we stopped at the Kingsford Smith Lookout. This overlooks Seven Mile Beach where Kingsford Smith landed and took off. It was the record breaking flight to New Zealand.

We then drove the streets of Shoalhaven Heads and walked along the beach before heading west to Berry. Parked the car and wandered the main street.  The cuckoo clock shop was most interesting.

We then headed up the highway to Shell Harbour and found a picnic table overlooking the Harbour where we had our picnic lunch including the thermos of hot water for a cuppa.

Incidentally , I was breath tested by the police on the way into the town.

We then headed south again and visited Killalea State Park.  We enjoyed the natural scenic beauty of the area - rolling hills,  Minnamurra Spit, cliffs and Killalea and Minnamurra Beaches both being National Surfing Reserves. They were both being enjoyed by a number of surfers.

We then headed back to Kiama and the caravan park after traveling about 120km.

Tomorrow is another day.
