Grafton Day 4

Firstly,  my apologies,  but I wasn't feeling too well last night and I couldn't get Evon inspired to report on our day's activities.  Here's the belated report.

We were up and on the road by 10.15 am. We were heading for the hills.  Drove through Grafton,  across the famous bridge, onto the Gwydir Highway and to the Washpool and Gibraltar Range National Parks,  a rough distance of 80km. Our first stop was Heffron lookout,  basically a pull off the highway with toilets and picnic tables.  Our next stop was Granite Picnic Area where we took a short walk to a lookout - all trees.

We continued on along the highway to Raspberry Lookout,  about 1km off the highway.  Mountains as far as the eye can see.

From the lookout we drove to Boundary Falls Camping and Picnic Area where we had a late lunch before doing the Lyrebird Falls walk (2.2km return). We then walked to the base of the Boundary Falls - 122 steps or 200 metres - then returned.

It was time to head for home.  The signpost said 90km to Grafton.  Not a bad trip home,  the road was quite bendy through the National Parks and like the Great Ocean Road a good challenge for our two wheeled (motor bikes) friends. We did pass a long distance cyclist in the hills,  I was glad to be doing the hills in comfort.

Arrived home about 4.30pm, some 200 km behind us. We had an early Happy Hour,  tea and since I wasn't feeling the best I went to bed.  Evon had prepared a meal in the Dream Pot in the morning which was ready to enjoy by the time we reached home.
