Grafton to Evans Head

Another relocating day today.  We were up , packed and on the road by 9.45 am.  Our destination,  Evans Head about 110km north of Grafton,  on the coast.

Besides a couple of areas of roadworks we had a good trip.  Pacific Highway to Woodburn,  turn right to Evans Head.  Just as we approached Evans Head it started drizzling and continued for the next hour or so.  Booked into caravan park,  found our site and when the rain stopped we set up the van.

After lunch we went wandering around town.  Out the park gate and onto the beach near the surf Club.  From the beach a path led to a breakwater - the phone went, Kim & Bert were "skyping" us. Not a great connection but we were able to communicate.  They are in Hong Kong so hopefully we will make a better connection tonight on Evon's tablet.

We continued to follow the path along the bank of the Evans River then turned and headed into town.  For a population of 3000 they are well catered for with a variety of shops.

Back down to the river and the Riverfront Kiosk and café where we enjoyed a coffee while looking out over the river.

We then went looking for the Bowling Club as the info office was there.  Picked up a few more brochures and a menu for their Chinese restaurant then walked back to the van.

After studying the brochures we have a plan for tomorrow then it was time for tea, telly then bed.
