Cardwell to Innisfail

We were up and on the road by 5 minutes to 10 this morning,  later than usual.  Another nice day for travelling.

Our destination for today was Innisfail,  we arrived about 11. 30 am. Set up then into town for a couple of chores but being Sunday most things were shut.  We managed to do what we had to and headed back to the van for a late lunch.

We then ventured out and off to Etty Bay.  We had been told we might see a cassowary there on the beach.  A cassowary is Australia's heaviest flightless bird.  We walked down the beach, no sign, we walked up the beach,  still no luck.  We decided then to wander through the small caravan park.  Around the corner and hey presto a cassowary and baby.

After the excitement had died down,  back to the car and drove to Mourilyn Harbour,  a natural deep harbour with facilities for bulk sugar loading,  molasses, live cattle and wood chips.

We then fuelled the car up on the way back to the van then ir was Happy Hour,  T T B
Big day planned for tomorrow I'm told.
