We then drove on to Crawfords Lookout overlooking the Johnstone River but decided not to walk to the North Johnstone Lookout as two busloads of people had arrived. We then drove past a number of waterfall sites.
A sign on the side of the highway pointed to a scenic drive, so we turned right. Yes, it was sealed, overgrown and basically nothing to see. It led back onto the highway.
Our next stop was at Mungalli Falls just a short distance off the highway then into a resort (not that welcoming). These are the highest falls on the tablelands. Back in the car and further around the loop road the Mungalli Creek Bio-Dynamic Dairy where we indulged in coffee and rocky road cheesecake after tasting their cheeses and yogurts.
Continued back to the highway on the loop road then a short distance on turned onto Waterfall Drive where we visited 3 waterfalls all with their own different characteristics. It has rained up here for most of the year so there is plenty of water in the falls but no doubt during the wet season they would be spectacular.
Back to the highway through the small town of Millaa Millaa and onto Malanda where we found the Nerada Tea Visitors Centre. As the factory was closed for 2 weeks there were no tours but there was a good pictorial display. Bought some tea then headed back to Malanda and the Malanda Falls just near the brand new info office and interpretative centre.
It was getting late into the day so decided to return home via the Gillies Highway to Gordanvale then the Bruce Highway to Innisfail. A very windy Gillies Highway but we survived. A big day, around 240km and over 7 hours.
After a good tea I was so tired that I just went to bed, no telly or diary.

I was wondering where your daily post was last night!
