Today we were up by 8.30, most of the vans had hitched up and were on their way by 8am. I don't know why, they must be on a mission of some description. We showered and had breakfast then chattered to our neighbours who were also getting ready to leave. They are travelling with their cat, we have seen plenty of dogs, but a cat!
We then made a quick trip into town to visit the bakery for a loaf of bread. In outback Queensland the majority of shops shut at 12.30 Saturdays and don't open Sundays.
After lunch we unloaded the bikes, got ready, then rode into town and onto the Warrego River Walk then back to where we visited the bilbies to see rock wallabies but they were closed so it was back to the van for Evon. I went off and rode another 10km before returning to the van. I had to fix a flat tyre on Evon's bike, she must have ridden through a briar patch. I pulled about 6 thorns out of her front tyre. There were 5 punctures in her tube so I decided to throw that tube away and fit one of my spares. No excuses for her not to keep riding.
We had an early tea tonight because we were off to the Cosmos Observatory for an introduction to the night sky. The splendour of distant stars and planets through powerful telescopes. The guide used plain English and explained everything we saw. The ring of Saturn, craters on the moon, star clusters and coloured stars. This was really well done.
Back to the van then it was a little telly then bed.
