Lloyd Jones Weir Day 1

Easy day again today.  We decided to stay here another night.  Awoke to the sounds of kookaburras about 5.45 then all the other birds joined in. Just nice laying back in bed listening to the sounds of nature.

We were up and about by 9 am.  Breakfast,  wandered around the area,  read some magazines,  had lunch then went for a longer walk down the creek bed of the Alice River.

Back to the van where we discovered a kookaburra had a nest in a tree between the table (where I was sitting in the photo) and the river.  She (or he) kept landing nearby, checking out the surroundings then flying to the hollow in the tree and sticking her beak in, feeding someone or two.

We did some more reading then it was time for Happy Hour,  then tea.  We then lit our own little camp fire and sat outside for another hour or so.  Had a cup of tea then bed.
