We were booked into the Jet Tour at the Qantas Founders Museum at 11am. We arrived about 10.15 and checked out a couple of exhibits we hadn't covered yesterday before our tour started.
Our tour started on time and our guide was very good. The Jet Tour was a 90min tour that took you behind the scenes on 2 jet aircraft - 707 & 747. We also saw a Catalina Flying Boat and heard how it conquered the Indian Ocean. A well conducted tour.
We then had lunch at the café before going to a theatrette to watch a 30min film on finding, repairing and flying the Boeing 707 back to Australia from England.
We then ventured over to The Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame. This is a spectacular tribute to the people of outback Australia. It tells the story of the rural areas from the arrival of the Aboriginals more than 40 thousand years ago to present day where technologies of many kinds are used in farming, business and communication.
We had a bit of fun with a flying doctor exhibit where you photograph yourself in a plane then email the photo to yourself. It worked.
We reached a stage where we were all "infoed" out and decided to go back to the van. We were given a pass to continue tomorrow.
Back to the van and we were joined by Bev & Noel for Happy Hour. They are acquaintances from Leopold. We met them as they were leaving the Hall of Fame - small world.
After Happy Hour it was tea, telly then bed.
