Longreach Day 1

It started raining overnight here, it was nice lying in bed and listening to the rain on the roof of the van. However it is amazing how it changes your attitude to the day, it was cold,  wet and miserable. The locals were all celebrating,  they have not had rain for a long time.

We did manage to get moving and we went to the Qantas Founders Museum. The museum tells the story of the founders of Qantas. There were easy to read displays,  oral history recordings,  genuine artifacts and multimedia exhibits. We have booked  a Jet Tour for tomorrow,  hopefully the rain will have eased.

We then went back to the van for a late lunch and as it was still raining we decided to stay in the van,  listen to the rain,  read, no Happy Hour,  tea,  telly then bed. It only reached 20deg today.
