Winton to Longreach

We were organized and on the road by 9.30 am.  Longreach was our destination today about 180km south east of Winton.

Good road today,  straight with a few undulations where we crossed over flood ways.  Kangaroos are in plague proportions and that is evident with the amount of roadkill along the side of the road. We saw some emus but not as many as the other day.

We arrived in Longreach about 12, found the caravan park,  set up camp then headed down the street. Picked up some brochures from the info office then wandered down the main street until we reached the supermarket.  After making our purchases we went back to the van for lunch.

Back into town again as we needed to replenish the bar. We wandered into a toy shop /newsagent before the bottle shop and I found these letters/toys. I couldn't help myself.

Job done it was back to the van again and planned out the next few days.  At this stage we have booked for 4 nights as there is quite a bit to see.
