Townsville Day 2

Today we ventured back into Townsville and our first stop was at the RAAF Museum out near the airport.  A little disappointing but then it was free entry. With a little more guidance and advertising it could be worth another visit in the future.

Our next destination was the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium.  We both enjoyed this experience.  The Turtle Hospital,  the Discovery Lagoon and the viewing tunnel were all highlights of the visit.  We must have spent 3 hours wandering the various displays and talks.

Our last stop for the day was Castle Hill Lookout which is situated in the centre of town.  A 2.9km winding road led us to the top and I was kept busy avoiding walkers,  runners,  cyclists and on coming cars.  Once at the top the views were stunning.  We took a number of walks to various lookouts and we experienced 360 degree views of Townsville.  The trip down was just as hectic.

On the way back to the van we stopped at a Supermarket for provisions.  Back at the van it was rest, tea,  telly then bed.

  1. Well if you had walked up and down Castle Hill like the others you wouldn't have had the issue of the busy avoidance! Lol
