We arose at 8am in time to farewell our new found friends from Ararat. We then showered and had breakfast, then a bit of housework. We then went for a drive around Cunnamulla. The Robber Tree was our first stop. A criminal climbed this tree after holding up the bank. A sniffer dog found him and the poor guy was hung for his crime.
A further 4 km out of town we came to the Alan Tannock Weir. The Weir was constructed in 1991 to provide irrigation to nearby properties.
We were going to fill the car up at the local service station and then get 4c/litre off our groceries. Arrived at the service station to find diesel was $1.70 a litre. Gave it a miss and went to the servo on the edge of town where diesel was $1.64 a litre to fill up.
Back into town to the local supermarket to stock up then back to the van, unpacked, then had lunch. We had forgotten to buy potatoes so we decided to walk into town - about a 2km return trip. Job done I decided to go for another walk around the sand dune area behind the park. Generally a circuit with a climb up to a lookout, passed the local cemetery, the Robber Tree , then home, a distance of about 3km. Evon stayed at the van and read.
Back to the van and was still bored, so the bike came off the back of the van and I rode around the back streets of Cunnamulla. A good 10km ride.
Back to the van and it was time to join people at the park campfire for Happy Hour. A little quieter than we had become used to. After Happy Hour it was back to the van and it was tea, telly then bed.
NB Tea was curried sausages - very nice.
