This morning we were up about 8 am, breakfast then over to the shop to pay for our tea last night. We browsed the shelves which had a variety of goods from Choo Choo Bars, White Knights and Fags , to windup tin toys. Thanked Kim and Glenn for their hospitality and we were on our way by 10am.
Another good day on the road, although we still had a slight head wind. Arrived in Cunnamulla about 11.30, found our selected caravan park and booked in for 3 nights. Deal was 10% discount for Top Tourist member then 50% off 3rd night if staying for 3 nights. A number of parks are offering different deals so we have to work out which best suits us.
After we had lunch in the van we drove into town to the "Cunnamulla Fella Centre" which houses the " Artesian Time Tunnel", an art gallery, museum and Information Centre. The Time Tunnel told the history of the Artesian Basin and the part it played to shape the landscape.
Our next stop was a bronze statue of the Cunnamulla Fella which is an icon in the town. A coffee and cake at the Boulders Coffee Shop then we walked past the Memorial Fountain and onto the local supermarket to get some milk. It was then back to the car and back to the van.
On arrival back at the park we struck up a conversation with our new neighbours who were from Ararat but moving to Geelong. He was a woolclasser who trained at the Gordon like me but a few years earlier. We spent Happy Hour with them finding we had quite a bit in common.
It was soon time to go back to our respective vans and it was tea, telly then bed.
You seem to be making friends everywhere you stop. Julie x
