Cunnamulla to Bourke

This morning we left about 9.45 am and onto the Matilda Highway.  A bit of cloud around , very light breeze and a good straight road.

Our first stop was at the little town of Barringun and the Tattersalls Pub built in 1870. Barringun is on the NSW/ QLD border. We met Mary, the barmaid/owner and she was 90. We had a chat with her then ordered a coffee which was served on a tray with timtams. Mary was a real character,  she had a large repertoire of stories.

Unfortunately we had to push on as we still had another 150km to go to get to Bourke.  There were the usual dead kangaroos,  live sheep, emus, goats and the odd dead wild pig.

Arrived in Bourke about 1.45pm and found the caravan park.  Set the van up,  a quick light lunch then down to the Info office.  Found another few brochures and booked in to do a couple of shows.

The Exhibition Centre is a world class showcase of the history of western NSW and Bourke. We have a 2 day pass so we will probably spend more time there in the next day or two. A drive around the town followed before returning to the van.

We held our own Happy Hour then tea,  telly then bed.
