Hillston Day 1

After a very good night's sleep we were up about 8 am and had a shower.  Evon enquired at the caravan park office as to visiting the local cotton gin. We were told to get out there early.  With the table set for breakfast we hopped in the car and travelled the 15km to the site of the Hillston Cotton Gin. We reported to the weigh bridge operator as requested and she gave us the all clear to move to the main plant where we signed the visitors book then walked to the control room where we were met by Chris,  one of the operators.

He gave us quite a detailed description of how the cotton is processed. It was a very good presentation which lasted about 30min. On completion of the presentation we returned to the car, then van, where we had breakfast , a little late, then after the dishes we sat around and read.

We had a late lunch , a chat to nearby travellers before we set off for a walk around the local man made lake which ended in town with a coffee and cake.  We then found the suspension bridge over the Lachlan River into Desathlon Park.  We may investigate this area a little more tomorrow.

It was then a short walk back to the van then we had Happy Hour,  tea,  telly then bed.  Incidentally it was cold here overnight,  about 2 degrees.
