Our first day in Batemans Bay was lazy. We arose about 8.30, showered and had breakfast.
We hoped in the car and headed into town. First stop was the Information Office where we gathered info on the area including bike paths. We then cruised around the suburbs of the Bay. We actually found a Bunnings so in we went. I needed some brackets to strengthen one of the shelves in the van and a hose fitting.
We then went to the main shopping centre. We needed to buy some provisions for the next few days, milk, bread, fruit, etc. Back to the van about 1.30 pm, had lunch
I then set about doing a couple of jobs around the van, fixed the shelf and modified our drainage hose. Relocated the bikes and carrier from the back of the caravan to the back of the car.
Tomorrow we intend to travel to Canberra to spend a couple of days with Don and Marie (Evons nephew and his wife) We have heard that the Kings Highway will be closed between 9 am and 4 pm. So it will be an early start to the day. If we miss the time slot, a detour via Nowra which adds another 2 hours to the trip.
