After the usual morning routine we walked down to where the local market was being held. A small market, not a great deal of variation, clothing, jewellery and artwork, no fruit or vegetables.
It was then back to the van and guess what, we unloaded the bikes. Changed into riding gear, checked the bikes over , then we left.
A shared path along the shoreline down to Port Hinchinbrook through a wetland area was our challenge. It looked like this path had been recently renovated with numerous info boards and points of interest along the way.
Returned to Cardwell and decided to stop at the local bakery for lunch. It was quite pleasant sitting in the shade overlooking the water and Hinchinbrook Island.
After lunch we continued back to the van where Evon stopped, I continued to the northern end of the path before returning to the van.
Packed the bikes up and spent a lazy afternoon, reading etc.
It was soon to be T T B . Tomorrow we head further north.
Nice chatting and catching up with you. Sounds like you are having a fabulous time.... Roll on retirement
