It was a good trip, light traffic and a good road with ever changing scenery. We stopped at Torrens Creek for a lunch break and arrived in Hughenden about 2pm.
After setting up the van we walked down the street to the info office where we picked up some more information on the area. Evon did the Flinders Discovery Centre where there was a full skeletal replica of a Muttaburrasaurus Dinosaur, a large fossil collection and a light and sound show on the formation of Porcupine Gorge.
I had a coffee at F.J. Holden Café across the road while Evon enjoyed her museum. On completion of her adventure we walked back to the caravan park via "Mutt" a fiberglass replica of a Muttaburrasaurus Dinosaur.
About 5pm we drove to the Mount Walker Lookouts about 10 km south of Hughenden. There are 6 spectacular lookouts scanning the district over 360deg.
We had heard it was a popular place to experience good sunsets. We checked out all the other Lookouts before sitting at the Sunset Lookout. We enjoyed our own little Happy Hour while waiting for the sun to set. We were joined by another couple from Melbourne.
Photo taken, sun had set, it was back to the van for -tea, telly then bed.
