Back to the caravan park and hooked up the van for our trip to Winton. Out the gate by 10am and on the road to Winton. The first few kilometers the road was a bit roller coaster like but settled to be a pleasant trip. Scenery was for ever changing and you could see where the Railway line used to run parallel to the road. There were lots of emus visible and dead roos on the roadside.
Arrived in Winton about 1pm and found the caravan park we had booked into. Set up the van then down town for a quick bite to eat. We then spent about 2 hours wandering around the Waltzing Matilda Centre. This is inspired by the song penned by Banjo Patterson and embraced by the Australian people as their unofficial national anthem. There were a number of other exhibits covering the history of Winton.
