Tambo to Charleville

Up at 8am and on the road by 9.30.  Stopped at the local dump point to service the van then it was onto Augathella.

Arrived in Augathella and fuelled the car then drove into town,  found a park then wandered around the town centre,  the free camp area then down to the Meat Ant Park where we saw the meat ant sculpture. We then visited the local butcher shop to make some purchases as a number of people have recommended them.

Back to the car and back to the highway.  About 5km out we turned right onto the Mitchell Highway to Charleville.

On a straight stretch of road, a rather large energy truck was overtaking us, when he was virtually beside us, all of a sudden "skippy" bounded across the road just in front of us. I don't know how we missed it. We hadn't been looking out for them at midday.

The rest of the trip was very uneventful arriving in Charleville about 1pm.  A very good road all the way from Tambo.  We decided on a caravan park and booked in for 3 days.  Set the van up then back into town.

The info office as usual was the first place of call.  The office was about 2km out of town and the girls there were very informative.  Booked in to do a Bilby Experience and the Cosmos Observatory.  Picked up some more information for what's ahead of us on the way home.

Into town and we had a coffee and cake before tackling the local supermarket.  Evon made an appointment to have her hair cut tomorrow.

Back to the van,  Happy Hour,  cooked tea on the bbq then it was tea,  telly then bed.
