We were up at 6am this morning, or should I say Evon was, to catch the magnificent sunrise across the water. We eventually surfaced about 8.30 and had breakfast and decided we would stay.
After wandering around the area and talking to different people we decided to take the bikes for a run. On the bikes and onto the bike path which lead into town. The centenary of federation walk/bike track started at the info centre and is relatively flat and is 6km in length and ran through the camp area where we are staying. Into town and while my chemist scripts were being filled we enjoyed a coffee at one of the many coffee shops in town. We saw the Big Beer Can which was installed on the verandah of the Grand Hotel in 1990.
Business complete we headed back to the van. On the way back we entered an area which was being patrolled by a very hostile magpie. It hit my helmet a number of times then had a go at Evon who by this stage was walking her bike. He left his mark.
Back at the van we had a light lunch then I took to the bike again and rode out to the local airport, back and around the reservoir to the van. Quite a pleasant ride.
Packed the bikes and gear up, then afternoon tea, a bit of reading then Happy Hour. We joined our South Australian friends for a last night at the campfire. Back to the van for tea. Evon was determined to get a photo of the moon rising so with tripod and camera in hand off she went. I believe she took some good shots.
It was then some telly then bed. Tomorrow we will relocate further south, Mount Hope or Hillston.
